Second verse, same as the first.

Not "just a political issue?" Of course not. And it's much more than a "public health issue," as well. It's an issue of culture, of the inherent right of personal defense, of personal liberty, of individual rights and responsibilities, of Constitutional law, of limited government, of the rights of free peoples to remain free, to name I'm sure just a few.

It's all of that.

And all of that falls squarely on the side of liberty, and against wanna-be gun-banners like you.

Which is why you resort to dancing on the tragedies of others to make your "point." This post, or the blog? I...@ GMC: Point to what? This post, or the blog? I assume you mean the blog.

The point to the blog is to illustrate the widespread problem of children being killed and injured by guns, and getting their hands on guns without adequate supervision, points which the pro-gun side (like Weer'd) downplays by saying it isn't a significant problem or that, as one person put it, most cases are due to gang violence, or just not having the kids out at a shooting range for "safety training." It also puts a face on the problem, instead of just a statistic.

If you want data, there's plenty of that to be had elsewhere, and it's alarming.

This isn't just a political issue. At its core, this is a serious public health issue which urgently needs addressed. He clearly doesn't use good judgement if he leaves a loaded weapon, without a safety even, out where a little child can grab it. And the incident should haunt him for the rest of his life.
