14-year old Illinois girl shot in home invasion

A 14-year old girl and her 15-year old brother were at home in Rockford, Illinois, when two men broke in and attacked them.  The boy was beaten up, and the girl was shot one time because she wouldn't stop crying.

From an article:
Shortly before 3:30 a.m. two men broke in the front door of the apartment in the 4100 block of Auburn Street. They made some demands and the girl began to cry, said Rockford police Sgt. John Hoshaw.
“They told her to stop crying or they’d shoot her,” Hoshaw said. “She continued to cry so they shot her ... 14 years old."
The two men fled before police arrived and are still at large.
