The boy told police he “heard shots and felt pain’’ while in the 900 block of East 44th Street at 3:25 p.m., according to a Wentworth District police lieutenant.
The boy was wounded in his back and right arm and was taken to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital, according to the lieutenant.
The boy was taken in serious condition to Comer, according to the Chicago Fire Department.
Police found two shell casings at the scene and said a car that was “shot up’’ around the same time just west of the 44thStreet address was related to the shooting.
No one was arrested.
