16-year old girl shot to death in Omaha

Eriana Carr, age 16
16-year old Eriana Carr and her 20-year old cousin Nakia Johnson were just returning to Eriana's home at night when they were greeted at the gate of the home by an unknown assailant, who then shot the two.  Eriana was fatally wounded.  Nakia was taken to the hospital and is in grave, but stable condition.

From an article:

16 year old Eriana Carr was a bright and active teenager.  She was a popular cheerleader that played basketball and dreamed of going to college in New York.  "She was full of life.  She could light up a room with her smile.  She was really goofy at some times.  She wanted to be an actress, she loved her school," her mother says.
"When you talk to students about her, it has to do with the fact that she was a people person.  As soon as you met her, you instantly felt a connection," Benson High School Principal, Anita Baldwin says.
....
At the hospital Tuesday night, a woman buried her head into someone's chest and moaned outside the emergency room entrance at the medical center. “They killed my baby!” she screamed. “They killed her!” Eriana's mother, Shavon Carr, was surrounded by family at her home Wednesday. Also inside was Eriana's boyfriend. The family showed a photo of the couple from last year's homecoming dance, as well as photos ofthe teen and her friends.
