17-year old California boy shot in front yard

A 17-year old boy was in his front yard with friends when someone walked up to him and shot him in the chest.  The shooter fled.  Motive is unknown.

Luckily, the victim is in stable condition.

According to Sgt. Steve Sexton of Woodland police, the 17-year-old victim was with friends and family in his front yard when the suspect walked over and shot him in the chest.
The victim was immediately rushed to Woodland Memorial Hospital by a private vehicle and then transferred to UCD Medical Center.
The victim did not sustain life threatening injuries, Sexton said.
