16-year old Florida boy charged as adult for bringing loaded handgun to school

16-year old Jevon Johnson was caught with a loaded handgun at school, in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Jevon Johnson, 16, of Lake Park, is charged with bringing a weapon to school grounds, possession of a firearm by a minor and carrying a concealed firearm.

Johnson was arrested on March 12, after school staffers were tipped off by a student that Johnson had a loaded gun in his book bag. After the gun was found, Johnson told the school district police officer that he had brought the gun to school for protection because another student had threatened to shoot him, according to the arrest report.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
