15-year old boy shot and wounded in Chicago

A 15-year old boy was wounded in a shooting in Chicago.

The boy was in the 8300 block of South Kingston Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood when he was shot about 2 p.m., police said. Fire officials and a witness said the boy was taken for the 8500 block of South Kingston following the shooting. 
The boy was believed to have been wounded in the abdomen, and his condition was stabilized at Comer Children's Hospital, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Joshua Purkiss. The boy initially was in serious-to-critical condition when he was taken to the hospital, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Chief Joe Roccasalva. 
Since Friday night, at least seven people have been killed and 26 others shot in Chicago.
