4-year old Mississippi girl shot by 7-year old brother

A 7-year old boy in Perry County, Mississippi, got hold of a loaded, unsecured gun and shot his 4-year old sister to death.

From an article:
The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon in New Augusta on Wingate Cove Road. Officials said the boy was cleaning or playing with the gun when the incident happened.
Sheriff Jimmy Smith issued a statement on June 6 saying an investigation is underway. Smith added at this time it was neither considered an accident or a murder, but declined to elaborate.
UPDATE (6/8/12): According to another article, the weapon was a shotgun, and he shot her in the face.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
