Ohio juvenile unintentionally shoots mother in back

An unnamed boy mishandled a gun in a Williams County, Ohio, home.  It discharged, striking his mother, Donna Mercer, in the lower back.  She was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

From an article:

The Williams County Sheriff's Department reported receiving a call at 12:16 p.m. from the Community Hospital and Wellness Center . The person making the call said a woman had been brought in with a gunshot wound to her lower back.
The victim, Donna Mercer, 69, was later flown to a hospital in Toledo, where she was last reported to be in stable condition.
Sheriff's deputies determined that the shooting happened at Mercer's home on County Road J in Montpelier. They said it was accidental and occurred as a result of a male juvenile mishandling a loaded gun.
The shooting remains under investigation.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
