12-year old Texas boy pulls loaded gun on classmate in school

A 12-year old boy in Warren, Texas, was in school waiting in the lunch line when he objected to something that another boy said about a girl.  That's when he pulled a loaded .25-caliber gun.

From the article:
Tyler County Sheriff David Hennigan told the Associated Press that the armed seventh-grader objected to comments the other student made about a female classmate at the school of about 1,200 in Warren, a community of 750 about 80 miles northeast of Houston. He apparently pulled the gun while they were waiting in the lunch line, according to Southeast Texas Today.
The .25-caliber pistol was loaded, but there was no bullet chambered, Hennigan told the Associated Press.
No one was injured during the incident, according to a statement released by Superintendent Lance Johnson.
"District personnel acted in accordance with policy to ensure the safety and security of students and staff," Johnson said in the statement.
After the incident, the 12-year-old put the gun in his pocket, but two coaches who heard about the confrontation took him to the school office, where he was held for deputies, according to Southeast Texas Today. The boy was sent to a juvenile detention center in nearby Hardin County; Southeast Texas Today reported that he was being held on aggravated assault charges.
Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
