2-year old Chattanooga girl shot by 5-year old stepbrother after finding loaded gun

Camron Wallace, age 2
A 2-year old little girl, Camron Wallace, was playing with her 5-year old stepbrother when the brother found her father's loaded .45-caliber pistol on a nightstand. The gun discharged, hitting the girl in the chest and killing her.

"It was just a situation where a child got a gun and fired a shot and it was fatal," said Mr. Haynes, owner of Haynes & Haynes tire store on South Hawthorne Street.
Mr. Haynes said the girl's mother called the father while he was working at the nearby tire store, and he ran to the house and found his daughter lying on the couch.
"He is a fine employee and a fine daddy," Mr. Haynes said.

Additional follow-up information HERE. The parents, Samantha, 26, and Thomas Wallace 23, were charged with criminally negligent homicide.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
