15-year old Chicago boy critically injured in shooting

Few details have been released at this time, but a 15-year old boy in Chicago has been injured by gunfire.

[A] 15-year-old boy suffered a serious gunshot wound about 7 p.m., though few details about the shooting were immediately available. He was shot on the 3800 block of West Roosevelt Road in the North Lawndale neighborhood, police said.

The Chicago Fire Department took him to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, a department spokesman said.

It's unclear what prompted the shooting.
