14-year old shot by 16-year old while walking to school

A 14-year old boy was walking to school with another boy and a girl when a 16-year old, Lavell Holloway, ambushed and shot the 14-year old.

The 14-year-old high school freshman was hit above the left collarbone and was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Salabura said the victim remained hospitalized this afternoon and his condition had been stabilized. The sergeant said the motive for the attack remained unclear.

Holloway is being charged as an adult with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm.
