Teen boy shot in apparant gang attack by other teens

Three teen boys were together in a residential area when three other teens drove up and attacked them with a gun and bats, in what appears to be a gang-related attack. When the boys fled, one was shot and injured in the back.

From the article:

The victim and two other teenage boys were talking on Crystal River Way when a dark, American made pick-up truck pulled up next to them, Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. Tim Gorham said.

Two suspects, one with a baseball bat, the other with a rifle, got out of the truck and approached the three teens. Gorham said the three teens tried to run from the scene, but the victim was shot in back shot.

The suspects then fled the scene of the shooting. Gorham said the victim was taken to Kaiser South Medical Center for treatment.

The motive of the shooting is unclear, but Gorham said it appears to be gang related.

The suspects are described boys in their late teens, Gorham said.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
