14-year old Omaha boy accidently shoots himself while walking home

An investigation is underway, but it appears that a 14-year old boy accidentally shot himself with a gun while walking home.

The boy was taken to Creighton University Medical Center in serious condition, said Lt. Gregg Barrios.

Police received conflicting accounts from the boy and a family member about what happened.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
