17-year old Medford, Oregon boy had stolen gun at school

A 17-year old Medford, Oregon boy was caught with a loaded .38-caliber gun at school, which he had stolen from a vehicle.

From the article:
Authorities in Medford say they arrested a teenager at North Medford High School carrying a loaded pistol he'd just stolen from an unlocked car.

The Mail Tribune reported today that police couldn't explain why the 17-year-old boy had the weapon and said he didn't threaten anyone or brandish it. They said gang activity or bullying didn't appear to be involved, and the youth wasn't looking to settle a dispute.

Police say students told the officer assigned to the school that a boy was carrying a pistol, and it took just 20 minutes to track him down. Police say he had a .38-caliber pistol tucked in his front waistband, which he had stolen from a car that morning.

The boy was held on theft and firearms charges.
Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
