7-year old Newark girl injured in head

An adult and a 7-year old girl were injured in a shooting in Newark, New Jersey.

From the article:

Police were still investigating and would not immediately comment. A local reverend, Alfreddy Fletcher, told NBC New York he met with the father of the young victim and it appeared a bullet grazed the left side of the girl's head.

Police were looking for two men seen running down Sherman Avenue shortly after the shooting.
The relationship between the victims was not clear, and a motive wasn't immediately apparent.
"There's too much gun violence," said community activist Donna Jackson. "There's too much lack of attention in this city to get these guns off the street."

ADDENDUM (1/9/12): An additional article on this.  The shooting was in a stairwell. The man was 27 and injured in the arms and buttocks.  It's unclear if the girl was directly shot or was injured by debris from the shooting.
