Two children almost shot when neighbor accidentally fires AK-47

Tyler Young, of Salem, Oregon, age 26, accidentally fired his AK-47 while cleaning it.

The bullet traveled through several walls of his house, out of his house and into the neighbor's house, through more walls and a door. It narrowly missed two adults and two children in the neighboring home. No further information was revealed about the neighbors.

The gun owner was arrested and jailed for reckless endangerment.

From the article:

Young said he just moved into the neighborhood a few days ago.
“This would be the first time I get a chance to introduce myself, which would be unfortunate,” he said.
Young claims he collects rifles and handguns and primarily uses them for target shooting and some hunting.
“I’ve been target shooting for quite some time, very experienced,” he said. “Which goes to show you, no matter how experienced you are you have to always be safe.”
