11-year old Bronx boy shot in stomach, by 17-year old

Someone sent three shots through the door of a Bronx apartment, hitting an 11-year old boy, Ryan Aquari, in the stomach. He had been playing a video game when the doorbell rang. He was shot as he approached the door.

Though injured, the boy is expected to recover. The shooter is unknown, but it is thought that it was gang-related and that the intended target was the boy's 14-year old sister, who had had a prior argument with a member from a rival gang. The sister wasn't home at the time of the shooting.

UPDATE (1/8/12): A pair of hooded young men were apparently the perpetrators. 17-year old Kijana Jenkins was arrested as one of those shooters. HERE is a video of the shooters outside the apartment.

UPDATE (1/17/12): The shooting was apparently over a jacket:
The victim’s sister, Destiny, said Jenkins was angry that a male friend of hers had donned the alleged shooter’s prized jacket. Police have said Ryan was not the intended target of the shooting.
Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
