15-year old shot and killed by police in Texas School

THIS POST HAS BEEN UPDATED HERE.

An eighth grade 15-year old male student was seen brandishing a gun in the hallway of Cummings Middle School, in Brownsville, Texas. From the article:

The school initiated standard lock down procedures. Law Enforcement Officers responded to the scene immediately. The student engaged the officers and was shot. He was transported to a local hospital by ambulance. No other students or employees were injured.

The boy died soon after at a local hospital. The article did not mention what kind of gun the child had, how he got it, or the name of the boy.

Every gun in the hands of a child first had to go through the hands of an adult.
