16-year old shoots and kills father in Maryland

16-year old Robert Richardson III and his father, Robert C. Richardson Jr., 58, had been arguing again. For years, according to neighbors, their arguments could be heard from throughout the neighborhood, often at night. This time, the argument ended with the teen shooting his father to death.

The boy then dumped the body into a nearby pond, partially submerging it, called his sister to tell her what happened, then took off in the family truck. After he was spotted and chased, the ninth-grader was captured, taken into custody and charged.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.

UPDATE (1/31/12): Some have defended the boy's actions and call for his freedom.
