17-year old boy shot and killed in Joliet, Illinois

A 17-year old boy, Jordan N. Edwards of Crest Hill, Illinois, was found shot to death with a single gunshot wound to the back of the head, after police responded to reports of gunfire.

“A few minutes after that, a citizen came up and said there was a guy down between a tree and a big bush at the southeast corner of Woodruff and Draper,” Roechner said.

There, police found the body of Jordan N. Edwards. According to reports, Edwards, who was recognized by officers, had been shot once in the back of his head or neck. At 5:19 p.m. a deputy Will County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.
