12-year old boy finds grandma's loaded gun and accidently shoots himself

A 12-year old Port Washington, Wisconsin boy was visiting his grandmother's home when he accidentally shot himself in the leg with her loaded gun.

From the article:

The 12-year-old found his grandmother's gun on top of a cabinet in the living room while she was napping. The boy says the gun accidentally discharged while he was handling it.

Brown told police her gun is usually kept in a loaded in a case inside her home. She also said the lock is usually locked, but it wasn't locked the day her grandson shot himself.

He was treated at the hospital and released.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first go through the hands of an adult.
