16-year old Florida boy charged with murder in shooting

16-year old Shaquille D. Rose of Bartow, Florida, got into a heated argument with John L. Hazelton at Hazelton's home, and wound up shooting the man dead.

Hazelton, 18, opened the door and Rose pointed a gun at him, the report said.

Hazelton's sister, Jontae Hazelton, told police she heard her brother say "hold up!" twice and heard what sounded like the door being shut, the report said. The sister then heard two gun shots and found her brother lying on the floor. He was shot in the head and died at the scene.

Jordan White, a witness, told police Rose had went to the apartment to discuss an earlier argument. White said he began walking away and then heard two gunshots, the report said. He went to his vehicle where Rose told him where to drive and threw the gun in a bush.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
