Irate father responds to 15-year old daughter's grievances by shooting her laptop

A 15-year old girl used her Facebook profile to post a letter of grievances to her father, Tommy Jordan of North Carolina.  She was unhappy with the amount of chores she had to do.  The father found the letter and addressed her in a YouTube video response, which you can find HERE.  Her letter had foul language in it.  His response had plenty too.

After addressing his daughter's point, he then took out his .45-caliber handgun and shot 8 hollow-point rounds into the laptop.

Teenagers are rebellious.  Nothing unusual there.  And in this modern age, social media is often the way they rebel.

We question the father's tactics.  According to him, the mother approved of his action as well, asking that a round be shot for her, too.  In our gun-crazy society, is shooting up her laptop and broadcasting his violent response worldwide the best approach in responding to their teen daughter?  It is juvenile and unnecessarily violent, and should be condemned.  While negotiating chores is fine, this father's response shows no empathy whatsoever and is meant only to demean his daughter to her friends.

We aren't alone in our response to this.  HERE is an opinion from an anger management counselor who agrees with us.

Do you think this teen learned her lesson from this extreme response, or will she only rebel more?

HERE is more from the father, regarding the response from viewers, and his opinion of how the daughter is taking it.
