15-year old girl playing with gun is injured when adult tries to take it away

A 15-year old girl in Tampa, Florida, named Nailin Rodriguez, was in her bedroom playing with a loaded handgun.  That's when her mother's boyfriend entered the room and attempted to take it away from her.  The gun went off, striking the girl in the chest.

From the article:

She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital and is now listed in stable condition. It is unknown who owned the weapon.
The mother and her two other children, a 10-year-old-boy and an 11-year-old girl, were in the house when the shooting occured.
Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
