9-year old boy shoots and wounds 15-year old boy in Detroit

A 9-year old boy shot and wounded a 15-year old in Detroit in an apparent unintended shooting.

The department said in a crime report Tuesday that the teen was walking Saturday evening when he noticed the boy on a front porch. The teen reported the boy fired at him, striking him in the body. Sgt. Eren Stephens says Tuesday the teen was treated and released.
Stephens says a 16-year-old sister was babysitting the 9-year-old at the time of the shooting. Stephens says authorities are trying to determine why the teen was shot and they're getting conflicting information in their investigation about how the child got the gun.
From another article:
The boy was in the care of his 16-year-old sister while his mother was running an errand, police said. He found the gun in his yard and was playing with it on the porch when it accidentally discharged, striking the older boy in the buttocks, according to police. The 15-year-old is expected to recover, Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said.
....
Detroit resident Joanne Clark said she was shocked when she saw the police lights a couple doors down Saturday. She said the boy is one of five or six children in the home, including an infant and a 1-year-old.

Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
