San Bernardino school police arrested a boy on Wednesday after he was caught at San Gorgonio High School with a gun, district officials said.
School officials received information that a 15-year-old student had been seen on campus with a weapon.
He was taken to the campus security office, where officers found a small pistol in his belongings, said San Bernardino City Unified School District spokeswoman Linda Bardere.
District school police arrested him on suspicion of possessing a firearm on school grounds and booked him in Juvenile Hall. He will face further disciplinary action from the district once the investigation is complete, Bardere said.
Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
