From the article:
Clark County School District police arrested the boy, who was not identified, about 10:45 a.m. Monday at Centennial High School in the northwest valley.
Lt. Ken Young said the boy was carrying a loaded 9 mm handgun when officers stopped him.
The boy did not threaten anyone and police don't believe he planned to use the weapon, Young said.
This was the third "real" gun confiscated by police in the 2011-12 school year. Police have also seized 22 BB guns or air rifles, Young said.
Every gun in the hands of a child must first pass through the hands of an adult.
