15-year old boy and his father shot in drive-by

A 15-year old boy, Deshun Winfert, and his father, were shot and wounded while driving in South Side Chicago.  Both were shot in the chest.

Preliminary reports stated a 32-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were in a vehicle stopped at a stop sign when a silver-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside jumped out and fired shots.

Both victims were struck in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious-to-critical condition, Zala said.

Police couldn't immediately provide a motive for the shooting, but said it didn't appear to be random. The relationship between the two victims wasn't immediately clear.

No arrests have been made.

The boy has since died from his wounds.
